A young fan reminded me today that we’re almost 20 years old (How does he know? He’s 14!), so I thought it was appropriate to inaugurate our 40th limited edition postcard series (don’t worry, not every series has been published, but you can see them all right here).
And what better way to start it off than exactly how we began, with Frederator Studios? For more than the last decade, Studios has been anchored in Burbank, California, first by Eric Homan and eventually his partner in crime, Kevin Kolde (Carrie Miller and I pitched in occasionally from the New York office). These guys have been responsible for some of our most amazing work, up to and including Natasha Allegri’s Bee and PuppyCat.
Not for nothing, I led with a raw storyboard panel because when I first set foot in animation, it was always the artwork on a board that blew me away the most. To see the fresh, unrefined work right out of the hands of our amazing artists has always been a thrill.
There’s a lot more great stuff to come from Frederator Studios and from Frederator Digital, our production group @ Frederator/NY (a lot of you know that already from their shows on Channel Frederator and The Leaderboard.
